A run for a late-night snack at KFC in West­moor­ings turned dead­ly when gun­men am­bushed a car in the park­ing lot and opened fire on Thurs­day night-

CEPEP takes coastline clean-up to La Brea

CEPEP is now tackling coastal pollution. Having done the Manzanilla Beach, the workers will now be heading to La Brea for their next clean-up exercise.

Cepep chairman Ashton Ford said despite several warnings to the public about the hazard of pollution, this has continued over the years and it costs a lot to carry out such clean-up exercises. Read more here…

BHP finds more deepwater gas

 MULTINATIONAL energy giant BHP Billiton said yesterday it has completed phase three of its deepwater drilling campaign offshore Trinidad, with hydrocarbons being encountered in three new exploration wells in the second quarter of 2019. Read more here…

A bright burst of positivity

SINCE its inception in 1995 FireOne Fireworks’ director Andre Abraham has used fireworks displays to encourage the people of TT to be proud of their country.

In an interview with Business Day, Abraham explained how he used technology, creativity and bright colourful explosives to get people to focus, at least momentarily, on the positive things in the country. Read more here…

GECOM set for house-to-house registration

DPP Says Four Criminal Laws Possibly Breached In Ruel Reid-CMU Corruption Case

The opinion has been sent to the Financial Investigation Division (FID) which is leading the probe.

It has also been copied to the Police Commissioner Major General Antony Anderson.

In addition to the breaches of the four criminal laws, the DPP said there were possibly two common law offences and possible administrative breaches. Read more here…

Powerful earthquake shakes Athens

The earthquake was registered as a 5.1 magnitude with an epicentre about 22km (14 miles) from the capital.

Srebrenica massacre: Dutch troops '10% liable' for Srebrenica deaths

The court said the state had 10% liability, as this was the probability that its soldiers could have prevented the killings.

Bosnian Serb forces killed a total of 8,000 Muslim men in the town of Srebrenica in 1995.
