Refused entry, Jamaican bolts from airport and disappears

A Jamaican national refused entry into Trinidad and Tobago upon his arrival at the Piarco International Airport, made a success escape into the country on Saturday. He ran out of the airport and disappeared. The Airports Authority says it was the responsibility of the airline that brought the escapee into the country to secure him. Read more here…

Committee to oversee transparent sale of GuySuCo lands

THE government has established a States Land Sales Committee which will ensure transparency in the sale of Guyana Sugar Corporation (GuySuCo) estates land pending privatisation.

Donald Trump meets Queen at start of UK state visit

US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump are meeting the Queen on the first day of their state visit to the UK. The pair is at Buckingham Palace for a private lunch and welcome ceremony.

Mr. and Mrs. Trump arrived on Air Force One earlier on Monday and were taken to the US ambassador's home in central London, where they are staying. Read more here…

Sudan crisis: Security forces 'move against protesters'

Sudanese security forces have attacked a pro-democracy protest outside the military headquarters in the capital, Khartoum, activists say. Gunfire has been heard, and medical sources saying at least eight people were killed.

Sudan has been governed by a Transitional Military Council (TMC) since President Omar al-Bashir was overthrown in a coup in April. Read more here…
