TRAGIC END FOR COMEDY KIN
Citizens reeled in shock yesterday when news broke that veteran actor and director Raymond Choo Kong had been murdered.
The thespian was found stabbed to death at his Green Street, Arima, home yesterday. The house is located to the rear of the Arima Police Station. Police said Choo Kong was stabbed multiple times and suspect robbery as the motive. Read more…
Cops called out, as murder rate spikes
Commissioner of Police Gary Griffith says the police is sparing no effort and is doing all that can possibly be done to peg back the recent spike in homicides experienced over the past 36 hours.
He said the homicide rate has spiked with eight homicides in the past 36-48 hours, after a 3-day period of not a single homicide being recorded in the country. Read more here…

Sinanan: In-house team installing cable barriers
THE MINISTRY of Works and Transport owed some $20 million to a contractor charged with cable barrier installation and repairs, says Works Minister Rohan Sinanan.

CARIBBEAN Airlines (CAL) on Monday said it was unaware of any claims of bullying of employees by management.

Businesses assist with mosquito spraying
BUSINESSES in central Trinidad are pitching in to assist the Chaguanas Borough Corporation deal with a mosquito invasion in the borough.
Chaguanas Mayor Gopaul Boodhan said because of a lack of funding and zero support from the Insect Vector Control division of the Ministry of Health, businesses in the borough have come forward to assist. “Scores of requests are coming in on a daily for spraying because of mosquito invasion in certain areas,” he told Newsday in a telephone interview yesterday. Guyana to become ‘testing ground’ for mobile apps
GUYANA will soon become a testing ground for mobile application companies, as STEMGuyana in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Telecommunications, will soon launch a global mobile app testing service.
According to a release from STEMGuyana, this global testing application would include services in market research and analysis, focus group research, User Interface and functionality testing and local product launches.
