Marlene’s home broken into
St Joseph CID police are investigating a housebreaking at the home of Port of Spain South MP Marlene McDonald on Tuesday.
Police said McDonald locked the doors of her Maracas, St Joseph, home at around 11.30 am on Tuesday and went away.
When she returned at 7.30 pm she found the house was broken into and ransacked. Read more here…

Dr Denise wants to 'heal' PNM
Dr Denise Tsoiafatt-Angus is determined to bring a different style of politics to Tobago to bring healing within the PNM Tobago Council, if she is elected as its political leader on January 19.
Tsoiafatt Angus and Tracey Davidson-Celestine filed their nomination papers last Monday, challenging Kelvin Charles for the political leader position in next month's PNM Tobago Council internal election. Read more here…
Youngest mayor of Chaguanas sworn in
The Chaguanas Borough Corporation has a new mayor, Vandana Mohit, and a new deputy mayor, Faaiq Mohammed.
Mohit was sworn in on Tuesday morning after a three-hour delay at the corporation’s office on Cumberbatch Street. At 29, she is the youngest mayor of the corporation and the second woman to hold the post. The first was Natasha Navas. Read more here…

CAL chairman now Republic director
Chairman of state-owned Caribbean Airlines Shameer Ronnie Mohammed is now a director of Republic Financial Holdings Ltd, effective December 16.
Mohammed is also group executive director of Nutrimix and a director of United Processors Ltd, United Hatcheries (1991) Ltd and Ferritalia Ltd. He is also a member of the Private Sector Implementation Committee in the Office of the Prime Minister. Read more here…
NCBGF raises $400m bond for MTS
NCB Global Finance announced on Friday that it successfully raised a $400 million bond issue for the National Maintenance Training and Security Company Ltd. Curacao explores trade relations with Guyana
MINISTER of Economic Development of Curaçao, Giselle Mc William, on Tuesday, met with Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Karen Cummings to discuss collaboration in the areas of tourism, oil and gas industry, and trade.
Minister Mc William later met with Foreign Secretary, Carl Greenidge. They discussed deepening trade and bilateral relations between Guyana and Curaçao. Read more here…
