A police officer with eight years' service was granted $300,000 bail on Tuesday when he appeared in court virtually for attempted murder. PC Rajesh Ramdass appeared before a Port of Spain magistrate for the 2016 shooting of a 37-year-old man. Ramdass was given an alternative of $15,000 cash bail. Read more

The TT Manufacturers’ Association (TTMA) has called the illicit wildlife trade “a serious threat to local ecosystems and the survival of endangered and vulnerable species.” In a release Monday, the TTMA said wildlife trafficking is a major issue and is considered one of the most lucrative forms of illicit international trade.
